Training & Workshops
Connect with me to bring a training or workshop to your organization. I offer culturally specific services, programs, or approaches that are tailored to meet the unique needs, values, beliefs, and practices of a particular cultural or ethnic group. These services are designed to be sensitive to the cultural nuances and differences that impact how individuals and communities access and utilize resources.
Develop culturally-informed services
I connect people, communities, and organizations, fostering greater understanding, collaboration, and positive social change. Here are some examples of culturally-informed services:
Designing your workplace practices to be open and inclusive for all cultures and beliefs. This includes providing spaces for breastfeeding mothers and spaces for praying.
Create culturally-responsive care and support to women, BIPOC, and immigrant folks in the healthcare setting. This includes developing language-accessible heath care for non-English speaking communities, and integration of traditional healing practices into health services for Indigenous folks.
Develop parent support programs for immigrant and refugee communities that are responsive to their cultural practices.
Increasing Halal food options at food banks or pantries that serve Muslim communities.
Foster an abundancy mindset
My work promotes abundancy through a racial lens and addresses the scarcity mindset that is prevalent in BIPOC and immigrant communities. I believe that by addressing the scarcity mindset through a racial lens, you can help communities of color build resilience, reclaim power, and cultivate a more abundant and equitable future. This work includes:
Acknowledge and validate the experiences of minority groups. Recognize the impact of systemic racism on communities of color that lead to feelings of scarcity and mistrust.
Reframe scarcity as a systemic issue by shifting the focus from individual shortcomings to the structural barriers perpetuating scarcity.
Encourage community-led initiatives that promote collective ownership and decision-making. These help center and amplify the voices of color in the decision-making process, ensuring inclusive solutions.
Provide resources and support for families to heal from historical trauma and promote emotional and mental wellbeing.
Create safe spaces for open discussions, addressing subtle and overt forms of racism.
Honor and celebrate achievements and contributions of communities of color, promoting pride and self-worth.
Promote relational vs. transactional approaches
I value relational approaches to problem-solving. This means building relationships, developing empathy, and working collaboratively to create solutions that are long-term and sustainable.
Relational approaches build trust, empathy, and understanding between individuals and groups. These practices emphasize mutual support, reciprocity, and collective wellbeing. It builds strong, supportive networks and fosters collaborative problem-solving.
Transactional approaches focus on exchanging resources, services, and information for personal gain. These practices prioritize efficiency and productivity over relationships and long-term sustainability. It can lead to exploitation, burnout, and cultural erasure.
